Jovon Thomason's Growth Leads to New Home

Univeristy Center,MI -------- Quick, athletic, explosive and relentless offensively are qualities that best describe Jovon Thomason.  Now add hornet to his title as Jovon signed with Division III powerhouse Defiance College.

Jovon will not be there alone as he will be teaming up with former Pioneer Allante Wheeler.  Both young man came into Delta College apart of the 2015 class. 

I believe both players have evolved their games in more ways than one, states Coach Carlos McMath.  According to Coach McMath, Jovon has become a better player in muliple areas including his athletic ability but he has increased his IQ a lot since he first stepped on campus. "Jovon has always had great court sense, being a son of a coach, but I believe he knows when and where to pick his spots better." 

It is easy to look at numbers to see the contribution of Jovon with career highs in points of 27 point in his freshman year, but Coach McMath states that his maturity has increased tremendously which is one of the key goals for his players. Increasing your Basketball IQ means two thingsaccording to Coach McMath "first the player is watching film and second the player is maturing off the court."   

Jovon will have an immediate impact at Defiance on and off the court.  #GOPIONEERS
